Our teams from U9s to U12s all participated in the London Playing Fields Foundation pre-season tournament in Greenwich and did superbly, all reaching the semi finals and going out to a single goal with the exception of the U12s who reached the final. The 12s then shared the title as the tournament was running so late it was unsafe to play the match as it was getting too dark. With huge thanks to the tournament organisers who always organise fun and well run tournaments.
In the first few weeks of the season the teams have progressed as follows:
U9s have started to play 7v7 for the first time and have done really well, playing good footballing, winning two and losing one match, scoring about 20 goals and conceding about 15.
U10s have also won two and lost one match, with the match they lost beset by some "home team dad" type refereeing. They are playing some great passing football and already have made progress under coaches Rilwan and Darren from last season.
U11s have won one and lost one match, as new players settle in to the squad under the watchful eye of Michael, Aaron and Nathan.
U12s have won one and lose one match, playing some great football at times.
U13s have started the League like Newcastle under Kevin Keegan, winning all three league matches with a record of scored 19 and conceded 11 in just three matches. You score four, but we'll score 6.
U14s have played two matches, losing the first after several of the team chose not to turn up for the first match. The second match was a huge improvement with all the squad attending and beating an 'A' division side with some great football.
